The pictures shows a homemade video eyepiece with a webcam.
I think it's the webcam: see -
http://t7.hu/14mw i received from someone (camera processor is a Vimicro VCO305).
Camera lens f = 3.6 mm was changed to Mobotix L43 / f = 8mm (
http://t7.hu/14sm ).
The eyepiece is a WF 10x 18mm -
http://t7.hu/14sn.
Combination have a 0.32 times optics reduction (
http://t7.hu/14sq ).
Currently using for microscope but can i use for the telescope.
Combination corresponds to a resolution of 640x480 pixel for a 14.8 mm eyepiece.
Electronic eyepiece focal length: Σ f = 250 / (d2mm / d1mm) x (f2mm / f1mm)
Whence:
Σ f = Electronic eyepiece focal length
d2 = Picture diagonal on monitor
d1 = Camera sensor diagonal
f2 = Camera lens focal length
f1 = Eyepiece focal length
Note:(d2 / d1) = Video magnification
( f2 / f1) = Optical magnification
Example:
d2 = 211 mm (640x480 pixel picture diagonal)
d1 = 4 mm (1/4 inch sensor diagonal)
f2 = 8 mm (camera lens focal length)
f1 = 25 mm (WF 10x 18 mm eyepiece focal length)
Electronic eyepiece focal length:
Σ f = 250 / (211 / 4) x (8 / 25 ) = 250 / 52.75 x 0.32 = 250 / 16.88 = 14.8 mm
