Novità importanti!! La cometa è ben 7/8 magnitudini più luminosa del previsto!!!
Cambia tutto adersso la magnitudine assoluta da 19 passa a 11.5 questo fà si che per fine dicembra quando all'albra si vedrà a una quindicina di gradi sopra l'orizzonte, la cometa dovrebbe essere di mag. 8/9 e NON più di 16!
però attenzione non è detto che non migliori ancora in un senso o nell'altro. Cioè che diventi ancora più velocemente luminosa (e allora ne vedremmo delle belle!!!) oppure che tenda poi a sparire visto che comunque rimane ancora un oggetto in assoluto abbastanza piccolo.

Comet C/2016 U1 (NEOWISE) has given us a surprise.
Michael Jäger posted a new image of comet C/2016 U1 (NEOWISE) taken on 2016-Nov-23 at 01.01 UT and estimated total magnitude of 13.0, much brighter than expected. Jäger notes the central condensation is magnitude 18 and that the coma is about 5 arc minutes in diameter. The comet was near spiral galaxy NGC 4088 in Ursa Major and has now moved east-south-east into Canes Venatici and is moving toward Bootes in the northern sky. Bright comet C/2015 V2 (Johnson) is located 10 degrees southeast of C/2016 U1 (NEOWISE) near magnitude 12.
Observer Alan Hale observed comet C/2016 U1 (NEOWISE)visually with his 41 cm reflector telescope at 70x on 2016-Nov- 24.37 UT with total magnitude of 12.8 and a 1.9 arc minute diameter coma but very diffuse and weakly condensed.
Michael Mattiazzo posted a confirming image of comet C/2016 U1 (NEOWISE) on Comet Watch facebook group he took on 2016 Nov 24 at 11:55UT showing the very diffuse object.
